COMMENCEMENT: The meeting started with the
registration of participant.
OPENING PRAYER: Second stanza of the Nigeria national
anthem. And introduction of participant.
WELCOMING SPEECH: Welcoming speech was by Hajiya
Lantana Abdullah which she started by welcoming the..
people, talk about how the
present president congratulate the coming president even before the result and
most importantly said that the INEC,
must be congratulated by conducting the election free and fair (peaceful).
OPENING REMARK: By the representative of Nigeria
stability and reconciliation programmed (NSRP)
PRESENTATIONS
Presentation
on review, of the 2015 general election was given by Godwin Okoko
(Chairman of plateau peace practitioner
network, PPPN). He started by saying that, the election has given us the
opportunity to make a choose and gives yet possible result. This is the very
first time in Nigeria the vote are casted in election without religion
differences. But there were some reported issues of killing in some areas which
the participants are not yet found till date.
He said that, many citizen were disfranchise because of lack of voters
card (PVC) he also said that, he was in some areas where religious and
traditional leaders were campaigning for a particular party.
CHALLENGES
He also
talks on the challenges face during the election which he said are:

The
propounding of the election from it actual date to another.
·
Insufficient
election materials in some areas (pulling unit).
·
Inability
of some staff to use or operate the machines.
·
Under
age voting in some pulling unit.
·
Delay
of election and bailout box in some areas like Wassa which some people vote
till night.
SUCCESS
The success of the election he said was that:
·
The
media play their role effectively.
·
The
card readers were effective in Governotoral election than the presidential
election.
·
The
security did their best in all areas.
·
Most
people were happy concerning the election and the election was free and fair
(peaceful).
OTHERS OBSERVANT
·
National
Human Right: said that, most people were determining to cast their vote but
some areas started late and candidates were not patiently enough to wait. She
also said that in Bassa, there was attack. Because there was poor turnout, the
election was easy and faster. Others also observed that during the election,
people conceit was bought because they were paid to vote for a particular party.
Another serious problem was that most people did not get their PVC and some who
have it, did not come out to vote. Hajiya from Wassa said that, the election in
Wassa was delay because the machines in that pulling unit could not detect many
people hands not until dettole were brought to help machines detect those
hands.
SUGGESTION
·
In
the next coming elections, there should be long term training to adult staff to
avoid delay or other things during the election because many staff in some
pulling unit because of their inability to operate the machines delay the
election and was complaining the machines were faulty.
ACHEVEMENT
·
The
achievement so far in this election was the absent of conflict. And the
democracy of Nigeria is growing looking at the past election.
EXPECTATIONS FORM INCOMING
GOVERNMENT: By NOA (Plateau
State Director Mr. D. Bulus)
The expectations according to the director
are:
·
Operation
on constitution because if the government and the people will work in
accordance’s to the constitution, there will not be much problem.
·
Good Governance: in the sense of being good to all
people or citizens and not to a specific region but universal.
·
Responsive: Government that will be responsible
for the people’s welfare, security and values. Security should be the number
one thing to address and when talking of security it include the peace which
will give people the freedom of movement to go about their businesses or
duties.
·
Justices: The government that will be fair in
distributing the resources or national cake. He said, children should also be
partakers of it through organizations with the responsibility for children. And
also said that for you to be justified, you must be fair that is, the twin
sister for justice. And also mention equity.
·
Accountability: our Government or leaders should not
always divert our resources to their personal account but know that they are
accountable to the citizens.
·
Occupation: Nigeria occupation is farming the
Government should help provide machines that will encourage dry season farming
and also stops growing slop in the 21st century which is as result
of poor town planning.
·
Human capital development: being responsible for the welfare of
the citizens, salaries, hospital, road and water. He said people should be paid
their salaries and wages because is that same money they will use to help women
selling in street by buying things from them.
·
Education: the most important is education.
Quality education should be given to the people especially children because
they need it. A woman an example and said “those children that are into
insurgency is as a result of lack of education and those who gave out their
vote too, is as a result of that.
·
Continuity: We need continuity in the Government
in terms of carrying out their agenda.
RECAP
Recap of the action point was by the chairman through a
representative on the review of general election.

·
Expectation
of the people was basically emphasize on security and good Governance which
cover much things.
·
Occupation
of Nigeria and discouragement of slop.
·
Responsibility
which we he said Government should be hold responsible for the people but the
government too, should also hold the people responsible for their own duties.

·
The
vote of thanks was by the programmed managing director, search for common
ground.
