The foundation also honoured the President of the Nigerian Guild
of Editors, Mr Femi Adesina with its Media Award. Meanwhile, the Culture Award
went to the founder of the Omooba Yemisi Adedoyin Shyllon Art Foundation (OYASAF),
Mr Yemi Shyllon.
The Director General, Institute for Peace and Conflict Resolution,
Dr. Joseph Golwa, also received the award for Public Service, and Mrs Hacer
Ruqayya for Education.
The Executive Secretary of Tertiary Education Fund (Tetfund), Mr
Suleiman Elias Bogoro received the Academic Award whilst the religious awards
had another recipient, Professor Ishaq Oloyede, who is the Secretary General of
the Nigerian Supreme Council of Islamic Affairs.
The wife of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT)
and founder of Al Muhibbah Foundation, Hajia Aisha Bala Mohammed, was honoured
with the Special Award.
The civil society award was rewarded to the Federation
of Muslim Women's Associations in Nigeria (FOMWAN).
Present at the event were the Minister of Mines and Steel, Mr Musa
Mohammed Sada, representatives of the Minister of Power and Minister of the
FCT, and ambassadors.
The UFUK Dialogue Foundation, a Turkish
NGO, was established in 2011 in Nigeria. It aims to foster interfaith and
intercultural dialogue and provide a common platform for education and
information exchange.
